Tübingen, Germany

Tübingen

September 1, 2007

Tübingen is a small town located south of Stuttgart, past Reutlingen.

Day Trip
The Reutlingen Gang (my NU American classmates) and I, took a 15:45 train from Reutlingen HBF to Tübingen HBF. The train ride is fairly short; the express train is about 10 minutes long and the regional is about 20 minutes. From the train station we wondered down, what looked like a promising street to nowhere! We happened to stroll into what seemed like the town square, took some pictures, at a 2euro Donner, and sat to people watch. We then just picked a direction and walked, coming across the city castle. The castle was not big, but nice, with gardens, archery, and extremely small doorways! We spent some time at the castle taking in the view, then wondered around some more down random streets, eventually making it back to the train station. The train station was extremely confusing, and we almost got on a couple wrong trains! We found the right train and arrived back in Reutlingen at around 19:00.

Tübingen is a cute place. I assume it can get pretty crazy during carnival times. What I really don't understand is why Tübingen is on the map and Reutlingen is not!? Reutlingen seemed bigger and nicer!! I think though, that in Tübingen there is a university that Germany is trying to make and "Ivy" like Oxford, Yale, and Harvard! What about Hochschule Reutlingen ESB?

Hi Ashley! Wow! You are traveling like crazy! I just heard that the ziplining is so fun in Costa Rica so we did it in Hawaii last week. It was so cool. Have fun traveling the world. Tell Nina I miss her and I always think about what she is up to!
